Artworks by students at Saint Peter School in Cambridge are engagingly displayed in a corner window of CVS Pharmacy in Porter Square, Cambridge. The art and information led me to learn more to share in this post. If you live locally, you can still stop on Somerville Avenue to look. Otherwise, or in addition, enjoy the photos, links, and quotes that extend the creative spirit of students and their art teacher/artist Tonya Grifkin.

“My true calling is teaching and for the past 20 years I taught in schools, camps, art programs, private sessions, and running classes in my art studio. …….. I enjoy helping children and adults alike discover their creativity and self-expression.” ( quote from Tonya Grifkin, Art Teacher, Faculty Profile, St. Peter School)

“Located one-half mile from Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Saint Peter School is an all-inclusive Catholic elementary school focused on academic excellence and dedicated to teaching to the heart, mind, and soul of every child. Saint Peter’s provides a rigorous academic program, rooted in Catholics values, to a diverse student body, pre-K through Grade 8.” (quote from St. Peter School, Cambridge website: https://saint-peter-school.org/ )

Quotes with Links to outdoor art by Tonya Grifkin in Arlington:
“No two barriers are the same in Arlington. Almost all of them have been decorated to add a little glow to parklet spaces, with each one decorated in a distinctive style, and with a unique story. Senior News Producer Anim Osmani met with one of the artists to learn more about her work.”( quote about Tonya Grifkin’s Dragon Barriers on Medford Street Arlington Tonya_Grifkin_Artist_Profile)
“Tonya Grifkin is an accomplished artist whose art can be found across the world. She has created various projects over the years from large-scale murals, custom dragon drawings, and hand-built ceramic sculpture. She also adores illustrating children’s books! Tonya currently teaches art at a private school in Cambridge, MA and resides in Arlington with her loving husband, her two children, and an extremely fluffy cat.” ( quote about Painted Utility box on Mystic and Chestnut Streets in Arlington:/)

Great fun to see these interpretations! Judy
