Here are photos, quotes, links, and notes from a recent MASS 50501 event that truly engaged me in sustaining ways. Visual art, along with music, poetry, free food, volunteer energy, careful organizing, and good weather, made this a fruitful festival.

As playgrounds have cautiously reopened, I can happily share photos of art by Mitch Ryerson and Gail Boyajian. This lifts my own sad restrictions on earlier posts about these artists and others with work outside Maud Morgan Arts. Now I can show and celebrate art that was meant to be where children play.
Common Exchange Adds Uncommon Experiences to Public Space
Cambridge Common seemed to me a public space of few surprises until a few months ago. Then suddenly it became a place to spark inspiring statements by holding hands, to select story performances from a food truck, to share the seat of a gigantic chair, and to join an eyes-closed tour led by a blind artist. Those were just some of the experiences offered through Common Exchange*, with ongoing installations and scheduled events from May through September 2017.
